A Soccer Mom I Am

Soccer season is here again and once more I have discovered the true meaning of being a "soccer mom". I spend at least 2 hours a day driving kids to different practices/games. The camp chairs have taken up permanent residence in the back of my car. I am already starting to look like a raccoon because of my tan lines from my sunglasses.
Both Syd and Brynn are playing soccer this year. Their first games were on Saturday. It is always fun to watch them play.Syd is playing on a full-sized field this year. There is tons of running up and down the field. After her games, Syd ate THREE sandwiches for lunch and about fell asleep in her dinner that night.
Claire spent much of the game boo-hooing for a "nack". It could be a long six weeks for her.

We also had to out fit Syd in new cleats. Darn kid just keeps growing. But are these not the coolest cleats you have ever seen? We don't look for Syd by her number, we look at shoes. She is easy to spot..Brynn is playing soccer for the first time this year. I thought my ballerina princess might be a little timid, but boy was I wrong. She has a bit of an aggressive streak in her. It is great to watch!

I don't know about all of you, but I remember this as being one of my favorite things about soccer. Juicy oranges, yum!

Never one to be left out, Claire decided that shin guards are the new perfect accessory for her pretties. The shin guards are too big on her and make her fall down, but she doesn't get hurt because her shins are protected, but the shin guards make her fall down, but it doesn't hurt. . . you get the idea.
As always, I am super-proud of my girls, especially the way they cheer for each other.

So if you are trying to find us over the next six weeks we are probably at the soccer field or in the car. Come watch a game with me. I will provide the fishy crackers and a chair for your bum.

Oh--maybe we will come north just to watch a game throw in a Diet Pepsi and I'll be there Syd's shoes are AWESOME--if they came in pink you could get Brynn some. Love the picture of Claire with the shin guards on.

I'm jealous of the orange slices. Why are they such a perfect halftime treat? This is a mystery to me, but the fact that Syd's shoes are bright and awestastic (awesome and fantastic) is one that cannot be denied. We love your girls and you're our favorite of the siblings. Suck on that Becca. :)

You always take the best pictures to just perfectly capture the moment! I can just about hear little miss Claire yelling "nack" .. oh, wait, that is because that is what I hear every. second. of. the. day!!!!!!!! We would love to come to one of the games, but Reilly might be a little jealous because I missed the deadline- yet again this year!! Syd's shoes ROCK!!

Hey, we're the same, except we're baseball, and I end up with about 5 mosquito repellent bottles in the vans because I always think I don't have one. Lilly also can't stand the waiting. We only have 19 games to go. Why did I do this?

Fun! Although, I must admit, I too am quite surprised that Brynn is in soccer. Good for you girls I know you are both awesome!

The big field? GO SYD! That's a whole lotta runnin'. Last year we also joined the ranks of those who spend all their time at practices and games. We still don't have TWO to go to yet because Gabe's not old enough. I'll have to get some survival pointers from you for next year.
